I’m not typically a binger, but there’s something about the mockumentary-style TV sitcom “Modern Family” that had me glued. Maybe it’s the eclectic mix of characters or the hilariously relatable family dynamics, but I adore these people. They’re as diverse as they come, yet at the end of the day, they stick together because, for them, family always comes first. It got me thinking — shouldn’t our workplaces feel a bit more like that too? Especially during the holidays!

The holiday season is like a big, bustling family reunion — it’s loud, fun, and everyone’s traditions are on full display. It’s the perfect time to embrace the diversity that each team member brings to the table. Here’s how we can make our holiday gatherings — and everyday office vibes — more inclusive:

  1. Recognize Important Cultural Events: Beyond just the December holidays, let’s celebrate cultural events and holidays throughout the year. From Diwali and Lunar New Year to Juneteenth and Indigenous Peoples’ Day, every celebration is an opportunity to learn.
